It’s a tangible experience for me. I may not notice it right away but as soon as I put it on pause to do another task I feel as if I have unplugged a friend. Like I have just hung up the phone or left a gathering. It’s a tangible disconnect in my awareness of connection.
If we didn’t know our earthly dad, let’s say, but we found his diary one day, we would so want to read it to find out what kind of guy he is. This is much like our heavenly Father. He left the Bible (The Word) for us as His diary.
There was a tinge of feeling “less than”. And then, in my being I sensed a phrase of “you are worth waiting for”.
It stopped me in my tracks. Where else does this show up in my life? Everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. At home, at work, at play, at church or any group or meeting, or not, there was no place it was not.
I wonder how many witty inventions clever stories and pearls of wisdom have been lost or reallocated due to the simple act of the absence of penmanship.
This is an easy twist on our classic balsamic dressing recipe. Make a quick upscale dressing at a fraction of the cost of boutique grocery store dressings! Eating well can be done on a modest budget. This is great on a bed of mixed greens with fresh or frozen thawed strawberries, blueberries, various toasted nuts […]
This is an easy classic balsamic dressing recipe. Its simpler to make dressing than we think! If you’re looking to have your say about what’s in your dressing, or for cost savings, this is a great standard dressing that can be tweaked to your palate or food sensitivities. Hubby rightfully didn’t want to pay exorbitant […]
The soul cleansing power of the lament (excerpts from my “morning writing” routine): We are so often taught to stuff it down and act civil. Yet there are times when we need to shake our fist at the world, pour out our soul, like puzzle pieces on the floor and have God instruct us on […]
Knowing what you don’t want is just as important as knowing what you do What do you want to do when you grow up? We’ve all heard this question in our lives, and to some point it may still apply. We go through changes in our lives, whether career, relational and even spiritual. Knowing […]
In terms of the worst advice I’ve ever received, I would say it has rather more to do with the delivery than the content. Or shall I say a matter of invitation. As such I’d have to say the worst advice is unsolicited advice. Those moments where you bare your soul, show your underbelly […]
almond milk, Gluten Free, instant pot, rice pudding, soy free, vegan – the way hubby aka Uncle Stephan likes
My spouse went to check on a rustic metal bench we were having made by local Mennonites, when he arrived, they were on coffee break. They invited him to sit in with them while they took a moment. This was profound to both of us. When they were done, it was at that point, he […]
Smooth, mild, everything you’d want in an organic breakfast coffee, with this pre-ground non-bitter roast. Neither over or under roasted this was a very enjoyable bag of morning goodness. I originally purchased this at the local health food store, however Sobeys had been carrying this brand, although they are often out of stock, as it […]
It’s true, although fluffy and GF usually never go together, they do today, with this fluffy gluten free pancakes recipe! The hubby wanted pancakes last Sunday (crepes actually) and all the mixes I had been trying we all used up or thrown out – you GF’ers know what I mean. None were out of the […]
10min gluten free dinner, can this really be true? These wheat free, dairy free, soy free and nut free, gluten free pizza crusts were actually quite do-able and remarkably better than 99% of the pizza shop ones. Yes, one can taste the difference, however when loaded with your favourite toppings it’s great to have something […]
Hmmm, I really wanted to like these, as I’m a definite old fashioned doughnut fan… so sad.. and a huge fan of owner operator businesses. Ugh. I have worked in a bakery in a previous era of my life and have made more than a thing or two in my day. Box says “we really […]
PC Gluten Free Fusilli Pasta was pretty good. Cool spirally noodles. Don’t overcook and don’t stir. Use package directions! Cook the noodles, drain in colander, pour back in pan, add already cooked, already hot sauce with all meat/veg in it (if spaghetti or the like) on top. FOLD sauce into noodles with large spatula (like […]
It was really good! Lets just jump out of the gate on this one. Not just good for Gluten Free, but good, like everyone likes them good. Its a relief to be able to make one dessert instead of multiple and having to keep them separate and labelled and all the other shenanigans that come […]
My dad’s a beekeeper, we’ve made lots of honey recipes, here’s one of them:
Honey Butter Recipe: 1/4 cup butter (softened), 1/4 cup honey (runny),
1/16 teaspoon cinnamon (or to taste, dash), dash nutmeg …
Don't we all? It's ok you're doing better than you think! Helpful Proverbs
