Delicious is a common adjective we hear from this gluten free carrot cake recipe. Not for the novice, but if you’re good at keeping focused then you can likely do this. The squares in a 13×15″ pan are the easiest, but a scrumptious 3 layer gorgeous gluten free carrot cake is irresistible even to the […]

It’s true, although fluffy and GF usually never go together, they do today, with this fluffy gluten free pancakes recipe! The hubby wanted pancakes last Sunday (crepes actually) and all the mixes I had been trying we all used up or thrown out – you GF’ers know what I mean. None were out of the […]
It was really good! Lets just jump out of the gate on this one. Not just good for Gluten Free, but good, like everyone likes them good. Its a relief to be able to make one dessert instead of multiple and having to keep them separate and labelled and all the other shenanigans that come […]

This recipe is modified from an heirloom recipe in my friend Julie’s family for generations, in the great province of New Brunswick Ontario, Canada … close to our Newfie friends […]
Original recipe from my mom’s (who’s now 80! at the time of this post) calls to melt chocolate and shortening but… 3T cocoa + 1 T oil = 1 square of melted chocolate (use the good cocoa – cocoa camino – full flavour – Loblaws and maybe Zehrs or well.ca) And grapeseed oil works well […]
I made these on Friday, and was going to take some to a function – after the hubby ate four of them, he confiscated them such that they would not leave the building! Normally I would put up a fuss, but it’s too hard to deprive a grown man of his new favourite cookies especially […]
Super easy to make, no fussing, just throw a few ingredients in a pot, stir and then mix. Kids and hubbies like to help make this one.
This super easy make ahead mini cheesecake recipe takes all the “fuddling” out of the crust – as it’s sprinkled on top, since we’re making them upside down! A silicone mini muffin pan is needed. Can be done in a regular mini muffin tin, but they’re trickier to pop out. Easy Mini Cheesecake Recipe – […]

This is one of the firsts in the Zucchini Recipes line. I made this when we had a baseball bat sized zucchini. It was fresh picked and the rind was still soft – therefore we didn’t bother to peel it, however, if peeled and finely shredded, no one could tell it was in this recipe…
This super easy cheesecake recipe is a favourite of my sister’s – and most requested of all the cheesecakes she made!
I’ve tweaked it to add a rumball flair to the crust.

About suppertime on my way to the compost bin, and mumbling under my breath, I turned to see the rhubarb patch, the leaves being big enough to rap up a newborn, which was filling out nicely and ready to pick. Bing! oooh rhubarb crisp!

A summer frozen dessert designed for company as it serves 15! Won’t go back to the icecream cake after having this scrumptious mousse style frozen square. Can be made ahead of time and frozen, using either fresh or frozen raspberries. It looks upscale, without all the fuss.
This is great for when you only need to do 1 pie, and don’t want to roll or make a mess. If company drops by, or even just for the family, this is a tasty flaky easy pie crust. A great crust recipe for fresh strawberry pie, especially well for lemon meringue, coconut cream pie […]
This is a very moist pound cake recipe. My mother, Edythe, has been making this for more than 30 years. Since this is a real butter pound cake recipe – there’s an art to the order of ingredients & the mixing (ie: sifting the flour). Mrs. McCallum’s name is mentioned on the original recipe card. […]
This is my mom’s Pumpkin Pie Filling recipe.
She’s used the same one for as long as I can remember. I’m sure she’s tried others, but always came back to this simple, easy and definitely flavourful one. My dad, being the ultimate connoisseur of pumpkin pie (once cutting the whole pie in 4 and himself and each son-in-law having a quarter a piece) likes this one the best.
